I guess this means the end has come

May 9, 2009

Yesterday was my last day at school, and I got some pretty nice cards from the students. I also had a lot of “are you on facebook mademoiselle?? can I look you up??” haha. Anyway, even though this has been such a difficult and sometimes exhausting experience, it has also been so much fun and I have really enjoyed getting to know the students at Jeff. I can’t wait to establish my own classroom now.
So, the whole goal for today and tomorrow is to finish my portfolio… I’m getting close, but I still have a few reflections and summarys and excel spreadsheets to do before it’s all ready to be turned in. After that, I just plan to enjoy Lafayette/West Lafayette and relax until graduation on Friday :)

Almost There!

May 2, 2009

The past few weeks have been super busy for me – but (as of yesterday) I have pretty much finished my actual teaching. I will still be in the classroom next week, but I will mainly just be helping and grading and dealing with make-up work. I still have a lot of work to do for my portfolio project for Purdue, but I am confident that I will finish it all and actually be able to enjoy senior week :)
As far as next year goes, things are really still unknown at this point. I have an important interview on Monday, so I am hoping that it goes well. And after that, we will just have to see what happens.

The end of student teaching is more bittersweet than I had imagined when I started this… It was an exhausting experience, but it was also really fun. I am really going to miss my students.
